Royal Palm

(Roystonea regia)

This widely cultivated palm is native to Cuba and is regarded by many horticulturists as the most outstanding specimen. A regal, solitary-trunk palm, it has a large crown of finely divided feathery pinnate fronds. It is a robust grower with a whitish trunk that has a distinctive bulge. Likes full sun and ample water. The Royal Palm is a popular streetscape palm, but looks impressive in any landscape.
