Pindo Palm

(Butia capitata)

Pindo palm is probably the world’s hardiest pinnate-leaved palm. This species is not fussy about soil type as long as it is freely draining, which is why you can see the Pindo planted as far north as the Carolina’s. It need full sun for robust growth and good color and, although drought tolerant, likes moisture. This outstanding landscape subject crates a tropical effect with its pleasing, stiff yet gracefully arching, much recurved, bluish or silvery green feathery fronds.
