Orange Bird of Paradise

The Orange Bird of Paradise is an exotic flowering plant that offers a unique flower to the landscape. The Orange Bird is a trunkless evergreen clump with leaves arising from a crown. The leaves are broad ovate and approximately six inches wide and 12 inches long, attached to thee foot long petiole rising directly from the crown which is at the soil surface. The flower is about 6 inches long with orange sepals and blue petals looking like a “tongue”. The Orange Bird makes a great accent to the sunny landscape.  The flower is used often by Florists in an arrangement.
