King Alexandra Palm

(Archontophoenix alexandrae)

This palm makes a great specimen as either a solitaire or planted in a multiple grouping. . It has a stately appearance with a long crown shaft, with closely spaced, narrow and drooping leaflets; very much like the canopy of the coconut. The King Alexandra is majestic and yet graceful with its straight-as-an-arrow, beautifully ringed, light gray trunk and massive crown  This palm responds well to regular fertilization and will  be a neat addition to the tropical landscape.  It is a true water lover and benefits from rich soil that is well drained.
