The Canary Island Date palm is highly prized for its formal aspect in the landscape and use on commercial properties as a focal point or specimen. The leaf scar pattern on the trunk is very ornamental while the trunk gives a columnar appearance. Young Canary Island Date palms are also know as “the pineapple” palm . The overall spread of the crown and fronds requires ample room for development and can be planted in many of our north Florida landscapes. .
